Aaron Filler is an internationally prominent inventor and technology entrepreneur who has served as CEO or Chief Scientific Officer of several successful technology companies he founded – including both venture capital and business operation funded businesses in the US and UK.
He has served on the faculty at UCLA and the University of London and has been a Medical Director at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has a PhD from Harvard University. He has also helped manage a large-scale research effort based in companies he founded in London and near Cambridge University in the UK.
He is the sole or lead inventor on numerous granted US and international patents for significant advances in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and medical imaging. His technologies have been licensed to Siemens, GE, Philips and Medtronics.
Dr. Filler also has many years of experience in navigating his patents through successful patent infringement litigation against a wide variety of patent infringers. His legal breakthrough piercing sovereign immunity that forced the University of California to appear in Federal Court to answer charges of patent infringement was widely reported in the legal news media.
In addition to extensive academic publications, he is the author of an Oxford University Press book on spine and nerve pain and a thousand page book on Apple computers (Datamost, 1984). He has designed, written and maintains several large websites.
Public interest in his medical imaging and pain treatment inventions has led to coverage of his work in the New York Times, the LA Times, The Economist, and the London Times. He has been interviewed on CNN and in a segment on ABC World News.
Molecular Synthetics, founded by Dr. Filler in 2004, is the successor to his successful biotech company – SynGenix/SirusPharma. The biotech discovery laboratories have been operated at the Babraham Center near Cambridge University in the UK. He is also CEO of NeuroGrafix – the medical image technology company.
Dr. Filler was recently elected the 13th president of the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics, a prestigious worldwide body dedicated to breaking the boundaries of science, technology, medicine, art and healthcare policy.
